I
was introduced to Shakespeare during my 9th standard. That was the
year we had to study play. It made me
delighted as I felt like I was studying something important. Anyway, I always
had a soft spot for literature. Although I heard about Shakespeare a tad bit
from here and there, which was enough for me to
understand that this guy with the weird name which ends with a pear had
permanently booked himself at a very highest in food chain in English literature.
I
had to give my brief flashback on our meeting because I am going quote
something from his play, which yet again is immensely popular. The quote says
“this world is a stage, and everyone has to play their own part”.
During
my early innocent years of wanting to be
anything which inspired me, like nancy drew, mad scientist, wildlife
adventurist, crazy travel journalist, mother Teresa all of which lasted just
for five mins after I had read about them; I agreed to each and every word in
that quote. And of course I was playing my part of being the protagonist, silly of me to think that the world would end without me. How
true I wondered and how did Shakespeare learn to express like that will always
remain a question for me.
I
am in my late 20s now. I feel like I have seen enough of the stage, I mean the
world. i thought I was the protagonist but landed up being antagonist, villain,
comedian, stand by actor, the invisible character, the item number (i would
like to think so) ,you name it. …been there done that. Now I feel like
Shakespeare should have quoted like this “ the world is a stage and everyone
has to play their part, while the rest of the people are the judges”. Yup, this
is what everything boils down to. The unavoidable nature of human beings to
judge eachother mostly in the negative manner.
I
try not to judge but I always fail. I am sure everyone is the same. After all the pondering ,the
wiser part of me says that maybe Shakespeare wanted to find that truth by
ourselves or maybe he didn’t want to discourage some pity soul like me. Personally i dont like being judged but who does. of course i am furious when my judges give me some negative feed backs but neither am i happy when they are generous with their beautiful comments. I find it fake. Saying so, sadly i end up being the judges at times, honestly, most of the times. so here it is, lets stop playing this lawyer game. i dont judge you and you dont judge me.
All
in all I am just another brick in the wall…opps, that’s pink Floyd. I don’t
know much about them just this song of theirs. No time for pink Floyd …I got
work to do.
Till
then i shall try not to judge but just play my own part.
Have
a swell day.
ufff the judges.. I could never figure out why some people can't focus on their own lives. hmmm.. But good one... Thumbs up...
