Do you ever wonder why we come into this world “crying”?
Apparently, it is the mother who has to bear the excruciating pain and the baby
comes out wailing. Well of course there is always a scientific reason such as
this “immediately after the baby’s birth, babies are expected to cry within 30
seconds to one minute of their lives. This crying is necessary for the baby to
survive because while inside the mother’s uterus, the babies do not take breath
from their lungs. It is the umbilical cord which provides them with fresh
oxygen and takes away carbon dioxide from their blood stream. Once, outside
their mothers’ womb, the babies need to breathe on their own….blha blha blha”
And hence they cry. As much as I
am all ears into biology, I have never been much of a science geek. I am more
into the lighter side which makes me think that maybe…just maybe.. we are not
too eager to be put on this earth.
So you see that the very first emotion we learn to express is
the art of crying. After our grand entrance or not so grand entrance, crying
pretty much becomes our life time companion. As a baby we cry a lot,
for instance…. (by the way I am not a mother yet), when they are hungry,
cranky, sleepy, awake, sick or just for
fun. Irrespective of baby boy or baby girl, they cry their lungs out and then
sleep in peace.
I am a cry baby. Crying has never been so hard. I cry when I am
sad, hurt, sick, angry, anxious, happy or watching a sad movie. My faithful tears
are right there, ready to swim out. Well of course I try to refrain from crying
in public, which I won’t mind if I didn’t had that small ego in me.
But guess what, after I have poured out the pain in me, I am
all new and ready to face the life with a smile on my face. There you go, i have said it, the secret to my bubbly character, "i am a cry baby". Bottom line, its ok
to cry. After all the sun never fails to shine after a hearty rainfall. So whatever
is holding you, let it go in the form of your tears.
Whoever said that crying is just for the sissy ones….well ok…go
ahead…and don’t you dare cry…let’s see who will last longer.
I reckon lions cry too…yet they are the bravest.
